Match report On a hot day, Burnham 2nd's entertained Marconi's. Having lost the toss, Burnham batted first and were soon 1 wicket down Steve Sims caught behind for 5. The second wicket soon followed, Sayeid Ahmed bowled for 16. Burnham consolodated thanks to a partnership of 48 between Jon Barthorpe (17) and Mike Forshaw (28), playing his first league game for a year. This was unfortunately ended due to a calf injury to Jon Barthorpe who unable to run soon lost his wicket. David May (22) and Ed King (19) both got in without carrying on to make a big score. Burnham's new recruit Tony Revell (28) helped Burnham reach 157 off 45 overs.
In the 3rd Over of the reply Tom Stephens (7-1-35-1) bowled Marconi's opener for 0. But from there Marconi's batsman played in a attacking manner, with only Roger Perrin (12-1-59-1) and David May 3-0-20-1)claiming wickets. Marconi comfortably reached their target in the 27th over. Burnham 2nd travel to Old Chelmsfordians next week.
