Match report Seconds winning streak ends at Eastwood

A severly depleated seconds lose by 120 runs to Eastwood.

With many second players either missing or drafted to the first team, two newcomers to the league game Laura Campion and Jason Arnold were called in to ensure the seconds fielded 11 players.
Stand in skipper Greg Campion lost the toss and Eastwood elected to bat first and at first things went well for Burnham, with George Rice 9-1-34-1 and R Perrin 12-2-30-2 keeping things tight with an impressive opening spell, but after a rain interruption it got more difficult for D May 10-0-63-3 and G Campion 12-0-67-1 bowling with a wet ball and Eastwood managed to get away, also with at least 3 dropped catches Eastwood made 231 for 7 in 44 overs.

In reply things did not get mutch better despite a bright start from Grant Smith (18) and Johm Barthorpe (15) 32 for the first wicket, Burnham suffered 2 mini collapses the only partnerships of note were between Ed King (24) and G Campion for 20 for the sixth wicket and the one which bought most enjoyment Roger Perrin (36no) and Laura Campion which added 22 for the ninth wicket even had the home team cheering for Laura but eventually Burnham were bundled out for 111.

Despite this setback it either needs Burnham to win one of their remaining two games or OC's losing one of their remaing 2 games to ensure Burnham stays in Division 8 next week Burnham entertain South Woodham at home game starts at 1:00 pm
