Match report Seconds dig deep for victory against Canvey

In a strange game where the seconds were 82 for 8 at one stage win by 99 runs

Burnham lost the toss and was put in by Canvey and yet again looked like the same old story, losing wickets at regulsr intervals with only Syied (18) making any sort of score and with the departure of D May (10)left Burnham at a precarious 82 - 8, then a fight back of 2 partnerships of 27 each for the 9th and 10th wicket, centered around Neil Wade (25no) supported by Greg Campion (11) and Roger Perrin (16) ensured Burnham had a total or 136 to defend.

And defend we did with one of the most ruthless bowling and fielding displays the Seconds had produced in a long while dismissing Canvey for 37 with Roger Perrin 10-3-14-4 and Sayied Ahmed 7-0-16-4 bowing deadly straight supported by David May 3-1-4-1 with 7 of the wickets being bowled, with 2 catches going to G Campion a sharp chance at slip off Fuad Ahmed and Roger Perrin taking a C&B.

Burnham must use this as a springboard against Danbury next week as it was one of the matches that got away earlier in the season.
