Match report In a low scoring match Burnham win by 4 runs

Burnham lost the toss and was put in by Stock

As in the past 4 weeks the Burnham top order struggled to get any runs and were soon 39 for 5 after 16 overs. Then just as last week Fuad Ahmed (56) became the backbone for Burnhams innings along with Chris Rich (22) had an important partnership of 66 for the 6th wicket along with some fine hitting by Neil Wade (20)in the tail ensured Burnham had a total of 141 in 44.2 overs to defend.

Burnhams bowlers were magnificent and was started off in fine style by Tom Stephens 12-4-46-4 bowling 2 batsmen and with Roger Perrin 12-4-23-1 having one caught superbly by Fuad at first slip soon had Stock 16-3 it was the perfect start for Burnham. Fuad then came on 7-0-22-2 bowled superbly, especially his trademark slower ball which did for one batsmen all ends up as he was bowled, Burnham kept taking wickets at regular intervals, David May 8-1-36-1 keeping the pressure on at the other end and Stock were 96-8 as Burnham looked favorites to win, but then Bathini for Stock looked like taking the game away from Burnham until a bizzarre incident, where he was going for a 3rd run he fell over mid pitch meanwile Chris Rich threw the ball in from deep fine leg and all the batsmen could do was watch as the ball trickled onto the stumps. Stock wanted 21 and Burnham wanted 1 wicket, it was tense as Stock slowly wittled down the runs with run outs and catches just being missed, they only needed 4 runs then Greg Campion 2.5-0-6-1 bowing tightly managed to frustrate their No 11 as he played over a straight one hitting his leg stump sending the seconds into ecstasy.
