Match report A good-spirited Sunday clash well handled by Ali Allchin, who was skippering for the second week in succession.
Baddow were on the ropes at 103 for seven after elcting to bat but Ali adopted a tactic of "feeding them a few". Unfortunately, our visitors proved quite hungry, especially Mr Beardell, who finished unbeaten on 104 and shared in a last-wicket stand of 65 with Pradeep.
Basher Wade and the resurgent Don Mears had done most of the early damage. The Bear grabbed one, two, three, four catches (was there porridge hidden in the ball?) while Stevo Jr caught the mood by grabbing an unlikely one-handed catch.
Our reply was all about Seamers, who made 96 (not 92 as first thought - some people evidently cannot count). Caught out within one decent hit (streaky would have done) of a first ever hundred. 18 fours and a six; that's 78 in boundaries!
Put on 110 for the third wicket with Stevo Jr in 18 overs before Wade Jr and The Bear added late impetus.
