Burnham Sports CC 2nd XI v Danbury Queens park on Sat 26 Jun 2010 at 1.30pm
Burnham Sports CC Lost by 143 Runs
Match report
Seconds crumble to Danbury
In a poor display Burnham lose to Danbury by 143 Runs
Burnham won the toss and decided to put Danbury in, due to the fact that the batting was weak again for Burnham and that our bowling was always stronger.
It didn't start too bad for Burnham Roger Perrin with his usual accurate bowling 12-4-23-1 and Tom Stephens 27-1 picking up an early wicket kept Dandbury to 99 - 2 after 30 overs, and would have been better if their main scorer I Rogers (92)had not have a couple of lives due to some questionable umpiring.
Unfortunatley for Burnham, Danbury still had 8 wickets and 15 overs and they made the most of them, as Burnham wilted in the heat the fielding got sloppy with the exception of Ashley Wade 2 fine catches in the deep, they were able to add 119 runs and posted a useful total of 209 for 6.
Burnham's reply was pitiful as only 2 batsmen got into double figures N Saunders 22 and A Wade 14 and were rattled out for 66 inside 25 overs.
Anyway
We're at the halfway stage we've won 5 lost 4 and only 27 points behind the leaders and a solid 5th position and still everything to play for, especially promotion and see no reason why not and face Marconi this week at home and hope to repeat our earlier performance this year against Marconi.
