Match report The 1st XI, struggling to reproduce their best form of late, lost by 65 runs against Writtle at Parardise Road.
Chasing 203 to win, Sports crumbled to 69 for seven before teenagers Ali Allchin (58) and Fuad Ahmed (29) belatedly offered some resistance for the below-par away team.
The pair put on 59 for the eighth wicket but the end came swiftly after Allchin, who found the boundary six times, had his stumps disturbed. Williamson (four for 40) and Anderson (three for 41) did most of the damage.
Earlier, Writtle, put into bat, had been indebted to an opening stand of 97 between Hughes (50) and Harris (45). Leech dismissed both, although Robinh Whittaker (two for 39) and Jamie Hamilton (three for 37) were the pick of the bowlers.
