Match report Grant Smith hit a superb century to pave the way for Burnham Sports to beat Tillingham by 64 runs at Vicarage Lane.
The Dengie derby was played in rain, gloom and a chill breeze but Smith made light of the testing conditions - making an unbeaten 102 as his team bounced back to winning ways after successive defeats.
Smith got off the mark with a boundary and never looked back as Burnham, put into bat in a game that was reduced to 40 overs each, accumulated a formidable 239 for six.
The 38-year-old, who hit 13 fours and two sixes, shared in brisk partnerships of 78 and 84, respectively, with Joel Whittaker (37) and Jamie Hamilton (51).
Whittaker thumped straight sixes off Tom Ford and Chris Rowlands before perishing aiming another big hit, while Hamilton found the boundary six times on the way to his entertaining half-century.
Nick Cooch (two for 51 off 12 overs) emerged as the pick of the bowlers.
Tillingham required a solid start - especially in the absence of the injured Jimmy Chapman - and got it courtesy of openers Dave Cummins (57) and Rowlands (46).
However, the pair could not keep up with the required run rate and, once they had departed, resistance proved minimal.
Hamilton grabbed three for 28 with his off-spin, while fellow slow bowler Paul Green picked up three for 14 in the closing stages.
