The 1st XI had their own catch of the season competition in one day at Rayleigh on Saturday. Here's how they totted up.....

1. Lomez - brilliant low one-handed catch going towards first slip, having began shifting legside.
2. Greeno - mid-on, had to pedal backwards and then cling on after heavy impact with ground.
3. Smudger - low two-handed scoop at mid-off with ball dying on him.
4. Greeno - wide mid-on. Ball smashed a little to left in him and lowish. Quick reflexes, strong hands to cling on diving to surface. Pick of the bunch for me.
5. Seamers - long on. Ball went up a country mile (batsmen could have run two it went up so high) but bagged it with no bother.
6. Fuad - at gully. Ball had flown behind him when he stuck out a hand and plucked it.
7. Nick - easiest of the bunch at widish mid-off but had to make a little ground.
8 Seamers - deepish square leg. Skyer that he had to run to get under.
