We probably made some kind of history on Sunday night when featuring in a match that took a total of 20 minutes. The game in question - ourselves versus league leaders Wickford in the 6-a-side indoor league at Chelmsford - began well enough with Greeno winning the toss and electing to bat. Who could blame him with Jamie, Rogger, Smudger, Ali and Stevo in his ranks? However, less than 5 overs later, we were all out for 20 - some effort given that you get 3 if you hit the ball against any wall and run. Given there were a couple of wides, I think we managed just 6 scoring strokes between us. Wickford took 10 balls to pass our tally and didn’t lose a wicket, though Rogger did drop their opener when the scores were level. Greeno’s run out rather summed up an embarrassing night; Ali rejected his appeal to run and the two of them squabbled at the non-striker’s end while Wickford’s players made a hash of getting the ball in. They could have run 2. We have won 2 of our 5 indoor games. Wickford are 6 from 6.
