Match report Heroic Seconds fall at final hurdle

In their game vs Old Chelmsfordians, Burnham lost the toss and was put in by OC's and were struggling again as Burnham lost early wickets and were soon reduced to 30-4, with a side decimated by absentees it was left to an outstanding partnership between Fuad Ahmed (61) and David May (30) to rescue the situiation for Burnham of 115 for the 5th wicket and some lusty hitting between M Mears (17) and G Campion(9no)in the final few overs propelled Burnham to a reasonable total of 185.

Burnhams real struggle came when we fielded as Fuad had to leave we were down to 10 men and it proved vital as OC's were made to struggle to Burnham total with only 7 balls to spare despite the bowling efforts of G Rice 11-3-27-1 and M Mears 9.5-0-45-2.

The season could be so different as we have lost 3 close matches but we will improve as we should be far higher up the table than we are at the moment.
