Seconds secure their second win of the season over Broomfield with 2 fine performances from Steve Sims 76 and Greg Campion 7.5-0-22-5 to keep the pressure up on their promotion chase.

Burnham won the toss and unsurprisingly decided to bat on the hottest day of the year and turned out to be one of the most solid batting displays of the year, all centred around Steve Sims (76) with Neil Saunders (47) sharing a partnership of 83 for the second wicket, supported by David Bridge (44)and some quick runs from A Wade (20) and S Turnnidge(20) ensured Burnham's total of 233 for 7 in 45 overs was a tough one.

In reply Broomfield started briskly having 55 on the board in 11 overs, but the brakes were soon put on when David Bridge 7-1-15-2 broke the opening partership and slowing the scoring plus Greg Campion 7.5-0-22-5 making the most of the dry wicket getting turn and bounce, supported again by some brilliant catching from Ashley Wade and Steve Simms ensured any threat from Broomfield was quickly snuffed out being bowled out for 147 inside 36 overs and winning by 86 runs.

Next week Burnham take on their bogey team Springfield and with recent form hope to continue their chase for promotion.
