Burnham Sports CC 2nd XI v Herongate 2's on Sat 29 May 2010 at 1.30pm
Burnham Sports CC Lost by 7 Runs

Match report Second's snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

Unbelievable collapse from the seconds, you would have thought 97-1 chasing 142 to win with 13 overs to go simple?- no.
The result - bowled out 135 all out with 5 balls left Herongate must of thought all their Birthdays and Christmases have come all at once.

It all started so well when Burnham won the toss on a rain affected day and put Herongate in. With the opening bowling paternership of R Perrin and especially T Stephens bowling 5 maidens out of his 6 overs keeping things tight Herongate were crawling along. Then the rain came and the match was reduced to 40 overs on the resumpion G Campion 4-35 bowling into a useful wind made inroads into the Herongate batting and after their 40 overs had 142 on the board
