Burnham won by 6 wkts away to Mountnessing

On a glorious sunny day Burnham won the toss and elected to field, and despite the sunny conditions the ball was swinging late which Roger Perrin 12-6-16-1 and Tom Stephens 6-2-14-1 exploited perfectly.
Mountnessing was only progressing at a little over 2 runs an over when David Bridge 12-1-37-3, Greg Campion 7-1-26-2 and Chris Rich 3-1-15-1 joined the attack and started to make inroads into the Mountnessing batting, along with good catching and a run out by Steve Sims (stumps thrown down from the covers, unbelievable!!)their score of 134 for 9 from 45 overs looked wholly inadequate on a good pitch.

Burnhams reply was in stark contrast to Mountnessing batting with Ashley Wade (16) and Ed King (20) made an explosive start, and had 50 up on the board inside 8 overs with the ball disappearing to all parts, and despite a couple of setbacks Steve Sims (11) run out and C Rich bowled (3), a unbroken partnership of 62 between David Bridge 34no and Neil Saunders 32no saw Burnham home by 6 wickets with 10 overs spare.
With a bit of luck depending on other results in the league the seconds should be back in top spot and look forward to Herongate at home next week.
